Communications Manager

McCraney Property Company, recently acknowledged as one of the top 50 list of U.S. Industrial Owners & Developers, is currently seeking a Communications Manager. Headquartered in Orlando, Fl., McCraney Property Company is a leading regional industrial real estate investment firm focused on the acquisition, development, and management of industrial properties in the major markets of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.

Title: Communications Manager

Immediate Supervisor: CEO and President, Steven McCraney

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

General Summary: The Communications Manager is responsible for continually enhancing McCraney’s brand awareness online and in the media with the development and execution of communications plans, strategies, and content. The Manager will spearhead all external communications with the media and community in all markets and will focus on public relations and social media. The opportunities to learn and grow are tremendous, with hands-on experience in the industrial development industry.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive day-to-day media coverage with press in our Southeast market
  • Monitor and track traditional and social media analytics
  • Create and manage press releases, media alerts, quarterly newsletters, email communications, websites and social media
  • Conduct research for PR planning
  • Generate ideas and identify compelling human-interest stories that reinforce narratives to amplify content across various communications channels
  • Foster positive working relationships with media members, vendors, and team members

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in marketing or communications
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite & Adobe InDesign
  • Interest in commercial real estate development, land development, and brokerage- direct experience is preferred
  • Strong ability to write for both consumer and business audiences
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, positive attitude with a high level of contagious energy
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high aptitude for customer service
  • Strong ability to problem solve while not sacrificing project goals
  • Flexibility to attend events during evening hours and occasional weekends as necessary

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above
  • Must be physically able to sit and use the computer for hours at a time in office
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
